Overview
Instant open is our online application. We were tasked with updating the workflow to reduce time on task and remove redundancies to increase conversions. This project was very collaborative with many different teams and departments. I was a still a Visual Designer but transitioning into a UX/UI role.
We noticed a lot of users starting applications but not finishing them. We also didn’t collect contact information early enough, leaving us with no way to contact them to complete the application. We wanted to redesign the workflow to make it easier and quicker, and giving users a preview beforehand of what they would need to complete the application.
My role was to design the wireframe, prototype it for presentation, and create a UI kit for the vendor to reference when implementing our new workflow design.
We started by reviewing the workflow and eliminating unnecessary fields. For example, when you entered your address it would pre-populate and you could select your address, but then you had to enter the zip code in a separate text field right next to it. Date fields had no structure, and radio buttons and checkboxes were used interchangeably. I enjoyed solving real problems with this project, which directly impacted entry into the credit union.
